Amar Sawhney
Amar (Amarpreet) Sawhney is a visionary in the medical technology field, whose passion lies in fostering entrepreneurship and creating scalable advances in patient treatment and care. Over the course of his career, Amar’s role and influence have evolved from scientist to executive to true industry leader. His portfolio of innovations have been the subject of over 150 issued and pending patents in biomaterials and bio-surgery, while his companies and inventions have touched over 10 million patients and created over 5,000 jobs to date. Through all of these accomplishments, one of Amar’s most rewarding experiences has been mentoring young innovators and creating companies through Incept.
Outside the medtech realm, Amar is passionate about education, wildlife, and environmental causes, which he is involved in supporting through his family foundation.
He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
